Toshiba introduces in Japan its new dynabook SS RX2 series replacing the old SS RX1. The dynabook SS RX2 is claimed to be the world’s lightest notebook. Based on Intel’s Centrino 2 technology, the dynabook SS RX2 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 1.2GHz processor, up to 3GB of RAM, Intel GS45 Express Chipset.
It comes with a 12.1-inch 1280×800 display, and support for WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n connectivity. Dynabook SS RX2 is able survival from 75cm drop, 100cc water drop and 100kg pressure. This semi-rugged notebook is available in several models. The RX2/T9GG and RX2/T9G offers 128GB SSD for storage while the RX2/T8GG, RX2/T7GG, RX2/T8G, RX2/T7G and RX2/S7G come 160GB hard drive.
The RX2/T9GG, RX2/T8GG and RX2/T7GG will feature also KDDI CDMA 1X WIN WWAN module for mobile broadband. At the same time, RX2/T8GG and RX2/T8G comes with Microsoft Office 2007 SP1with PowerPoint 2007 SP1 software pre-installed.
dynabook SS RX2 packs also integrated fingerprint scanner, SD/SDHC memory card slot, 3 USB ports and D-Sub out. The dynabook SS RX2 will be shipped in late Septmeber expect that the SSD models will be shipped in November.
