This is Asus U2E laptop PC that comes with a 32GB or 64GB SSD (Solid State Drive). The Asus U2E features an Core 2 Duo U7600 or U7500 PCU, 2GB of memory (up to 4GB), WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth.
The U2E offers also a 11.1-inch 1366×768 LCD display with LED backlit, a fingerprint reader, a 0.3 megapixel camera and a multi-card reader.
It runs Windows Vista.
Asus offers the Eee PC 1000HD netbook. THe Eee PC 1000HD get an Intel 900MHz CPU and 1GB or 2GB of RAM. It has 80GB hard drive. There are also a 10-inch LCD screen, WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth and a 1.3 Megapixel camera. It can run both Linux and WIndows XP OS.
Powered by Intel’s Centrino 2 technology, the MSI PR201 is an ultra lightweight laptop with Magnesium Alloy Casing. PR201 features Core 2 Duo CPU, up to 4GB of RAM, 160 / 250 /320 GB SATA hard drive and built-in X4500 graphics.
Other features include a 12.1-inch 1280×800 LCD display, a DVD SuperMulti burner, Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, and a 2 Megapixel webcam. It has a 3-in-1 media car reader and an HDMI port.
HP Pavilion dv7 is a desktop replacement with a stylish design. It has been reviewed by LaptopMag. The reviewed unit of dv7 is equipped with a Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53GHz CPU, 3GB of RAM, 400GB hard drive and nVidia GeForce 9600M GT graphic card.
dv7 comes with also a two 200GB hard drive, a Blu-ray/DVD+/-RW DL combo drive, WiFi 802.11a/g/n, Bluetooth and 5-in-1 card reader. The desktop replacement offers the number pad.
Asus is preparing its S101 mini laptop, which is actually a high-end Eee PC with 32GB or 40GB/64GB SSD. The new S101 will not have Eee branding. It will be equipped with Atom processor, 10-inch LCD screen, and 32GB or 40/64GB SSD. S101 is an ultra slim laptop that is only 16-21mm thick.
The reason for dropping Eee branding is that the new S101 will be more expensive. The 32GB SSD version will cost $699 while the 40GB/64GB version will be priced at $899.
Other than the T series, Lenovo is also offering the new Centrino 2 based R400 and R500 laptop PCs.
The ThinkPad R400 and R500 are powered by Intel’s processor, either Core 2 Duo or Celeron. They can have up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 320GB hard drive. There is also Intel’s integrated X4500 graphic card.
The R400 has a 14.1-inch LCD display and the R500 has a 15.4-inch screen. They feature WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet connectivity, ExpressCard slot, optional webcam, and VGA out.
The R400 is available for a price from $1,005.00 and you have to pay a little bit more for R500 at a starting price $1,178.00.
Lenovo launches its new ThinkPad T series laptops that includes the T400 and T500. These two laptops offers basically same features. Both of of them get an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, up to 8GB of memory, up to 320GB of hard drive. Users can also replace the hard drive with a 64GB SSD. As for video card, X4500 integrated graphic and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 (256MB) are the options available.
You can also expect a DVD burner/Blu-ray drive, Bluetooth, and WiFi connectivity. Lenovo offers optional modules such as GPS, WiMax, UWB, fingerprint scanner, and WWAN.
The T400 has a 14.1-inch display while the T500 gets a 15.4-inch. The T400 has a price tag starting from $1130 and the T500 starts from $1,159.00.
It looks like BenQ is going to launch its Aries 2 MID in this quarter. The Aries 2 MID has recently got the Bronze Award in the Interactive Product Experiences at at the 2008 Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA). The stylish Aries MID features a Intel 800MHz Silverthorone CPU and 512MB of memory. There is a 4GB SSD for storage and you can also get WiFi, Bluetooth as well as HSDPA wireless connectivity.
Lenovo shows us its own netbook, facing the new challenges from Asus Eee PC, Acer Aspire as well as MSI Wind. Lenovo’s new laptop is the IdeaPad S9. It is powered by an Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB RAM, and 8GB SSD. It has a 8.9-inch LCD screen. WiFi, Bluetooth and card reader can also be expected.
Coming in September, the IdeaPad S9 will be priced at NT$12,900.
MSI presents the GX620 and GX720 laptop PCs for gamers. The two laptops are offering the same features. They are both equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, up to 4GB of memory, and 320GB hard drive. They have nVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT video card for graphic processing. You can also expect WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth connectivity. A DVD wrtier and a 4-in-1 card reader will also be available in addition to hard drive.
Both GX620 and GX720 have a 2 megapixel webcam and HDMI and eSATA ports. The only difference between them is that the GX620 has a 15-inch LCD screen while the GX720 comes with a 17-inch display.
Other than the 8.9-inch netbook, Lenovo is also offering the 10-inch IdeaPad S10 netbook. Like the S9, the S10 gets an Intel Atom 1.6GHz CPU, and up to 2GB of memory. Instead of SSD, the S10 has up to 160GB hard drive.
Two models will be available. The $399 models with 512MB and 80GB HDD and the $499 model with 1GB of memory and 160GBHDD.
Other features include a 13.3-inch LCD display with 1280×800 resolution, either a DVD SuperMulti burner or Blu-ray/DVD combo drive, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth, HDMI and eSATA socket, and 4-in-1 card reader.
HP is also going to release the EliteBook 2530p business laptop PC, which offers similar features as the 2730p. The 2530p basically is the non-tablet version of the 2730p.
Powered by the same Core 2 Duo ULV 1.2GHz or Core 2 Duo LV 1.8GHz CPU, the 2530p has up to 4GB of memory and up to 160GB hard drive, and GMS 4500 HD graphic card. Buyers can also get the 80GB SSD to replace the hard drive.
The EliteBook has an internal DVD+/-RW burner, a 12.1-inch LCD display, Bluetooth, WiFi and SD card slot.
Lenovo announced the ThinkPad X301 laptop PC. The new ThinkPad X301 is powered by Intel’s Core 2 Duo ULV 1.2GHz or 1.4GHz CPU, up to 2GB of DDR3 memory and 64GB or 128GB SSD for storage. It comes with a 13.3-inch LCD display,WiFi and Bluetooth. Users may also want to get the optional WWAN, GPS, WiMax and UWB modules.
Available from 26th August, the X301 has a starting price of $2599.
HP has the new EliteBook 2730p business tablet PC. The 2730p gets either a Core 2 Duo ULV 1.2GHz or Core 2 Duo LV 1.83GHz processor. It comes with up to 4GB of memory and a 80GB or 120GB hard drive. Users may want get 80GB SSD instead of hard drive. It has the integrated GMA X4500 HD graphic card.
The EliteBook 2730p features 1280×800 12-inch touch display, and a SD card slot. It supports Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11draft-n wireless connectivity. There are also optional EVDO/HSPA mobile broadband module.
We have seen Dell’s E mini laptop previously. It looks like Dell is going to launch the netbook as the Inspiron 910. The Inspiron 910 get an Intel 1.6GHz Atom CPU, 512MB of memory, and flash memory of 4GB, 8GB or 16GB. The Dell E Inspiron 910 comes with WiFi supports and optional Bluetooth and 3G support. It runs Windows XP or Ubuntu.
NotebookReview posted a user review of the Toshiba Portege R500-11C laptop. The tested Portege R500-11C features an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.2GHz ULV CPU, 2GB of memory, a 160GB HDD and integrated GMA950 video card.
The laptop supports WiFI, Bluetooth connectivity and has a SD/SDHC/MMC media card reader and 3 USB ports.
Gateway announced the launch of its affordable gaming laptop PC, the P-7811FX. Gateway P-7811FX is equipped with Intel’s Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz P8400 CPU, 4GB of memory and nVIDIA’s GeForce 9800M GTS graphic card.
P-7811FX gets a 17-inch HD LCD screen offering 1920×1200 resolution, and a SuperMulti DVD burner. Connectivity wise, the P-7811FX offers WiFi 802.11draft-n, wireless, USB 2.0, HDMI 1.3 and eSATA ports. The laptop has also a 1.3 megapixel camera and a 5-in-1 card reader.
The price of the laptop starts at $1,399.99. It runs Windows Home Premium 64-bit Edition.
