HP Compaq Presario CQ20 and CQ70 Notebook


HP launches in Hong Kong the new Compaq Presario CQ20 and CQ70 notebook PCs. Both CQ20 and CQ70 are powered by Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor, up to 320GB hard drive and either the integrated Intel GMA X4500 or NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GE graphic card.

Other features include SuperMulti DVD±RW with LightScribe, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth and HDMI 1.3b output.

They both run the Windows Vista Premium SP1.

Omatek X10 Laptop


Omatek joins the competitive netbook market by introducing the X10 10.2-inch netbook. Powered by Intel Atom N270 processor, the X10 has 1GB of RAM, Intel GMA 950 grahics and 80GB hard drive.

Other features include a 10.2-inch LCD display, WiFi 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth, a 1.3 Megapixel webcam, 3-in-1 card reader and Express Card slot.

Toshiba dynabook SS RX2

Toshiba introduces in Japan its new dynabook SS RX2 series replacing the old SS RX1. The dynabook SS RX2 is claimed to be the world’s lightest notebook. Based on Intel’s Centrino 2 technology, the dynabook SS RX2 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 1.2GHz processor, up to 3GB of RAM, Intel GS45 Express Chipset.

It comes with a 12.1-inch 1280×800 display, and support for WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n connectivity. Dynabook SS RX2 is able survival from 75cm drop, 100cc water drop and 100kg pressure. This semi-rugged notebook is available in several models. The RX2/T9GG and RX2/T9G offers 128GB SSD for storage while the RX2/T8GG, RX2/T7GG, RX2/T8G, RX2/T7G and RX2/S7G come 160GB hard drive.

The RX2/T9GG, RX2/T8GG and RX2/T7GG will feature also KDDI CDMA 1X WIN WWAN module for mobile broadband. At the same time, RX2/T8GG and RX2/T8G comes with Microsoft Office 2007 SP1with PowerPoint 2007 SP1 software pre-installed.

Asus N10 Netbook


J&R has added to its online shop the Asus N10 (model: N10JA2) netbook PC and priced the N10 at US $849., which is the premium version of Asus’ Eee PC netbook.

This Asus N10 is powered by Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of memory, GeForce 9300M GS video card and 250GB hard drive.

N10 features also a 10.2-inch LCD display, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, a fingerprint reader and a webcam. It runs Windows Vista Business. It looks like the N10 is the official version of the S101.

HP announced the new EliteBook 6930p laptop PC that offers up to 24 hours of battery life. This EliteBook 6930p utilize HP Illumi-Lite LED display for reducing power consumption.

It replace traditional hard drive with Intel’s new X25-M and X18-M Mainstream SATA SSDs that offers up to a 7 percent increase in battery life.

HP EliteBook 6930p has a 14.1-inch widescreen display. It has HP DuraCase, spill-resistant keyboard, shock-resistant SSD drives, enhanced display panels for defending data against bumps, drops and spills.

Asus F6, F8V


Asustek has unveled the new Asus F6 13.3-inch and F8V 14.1-inch notebooks, featuring the Intel Centrino 2 mobile platform and stylish designs.

The both laptop feature the latest Core 2 Duo processors, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470 256MB dedicated video card, up to 4GB of DDR2 system memory, up to 320GB of hard drive space, and a built-in DVD burner or Blu-Ray drive.

There are also built-in 1.3-megapixel web camera, HDMI, VGA, Firewire, and eSATA ports, an ExpressCard slot, and 8-in-1 media card reader. The F6 and F8v have 4 and 5 USB ports respectively, as well as the Trusted Platform Module 1.2. In addition, the F8V features an optional fingerprint reader.

The F6 weighs around 4.4 pounds with a 3-cell battery and provides a choice of four different designs, while the F8 weighs approximately 5.7 pounds with a 6-cell unit and comes in five different colors.
The new laptops run Windows Vista operating system and include Express Gate mini OS “that empowers users with an 8 second boot-up time for rapid access to a host of multimedia and online applications”.

There is no official information on the pricing and availability. However, we have found a Centrino 2-based Asus F6 model (F6A-A1) with Intel’s 4500 HD integrated graphics for $949 at NewEgg.

Fujitsu L1010 Notebook


Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific announced the Fujitsu L1010 laptop PC targeted at Generation Y-ers, tech-savvy young adults. Based on Centrino 2 technology, the L1010 is powered by Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor, Intel PM45/GM45 Express Chipset and Intel WiFi Link 5300AGN for wireless connectivity.

Fujitsu L1010 has a unique hinge design such that no obvious hinge joints are revealed when its cover is closed. Fujitsu L1010 comes with built-in 1.3 Megapixel webcam and microphone for Gen Y-ers to keep connected with their friends.

This Gen-Y-oriented laptop is capable of gaming thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS video card with 256MB video RAM and the 14.1-inch LCD display. L1010 has HDMI out for transmission of High Definition videos to your LCD TV.

Fujitsu L1010 will be available in several colors. Pricing and availability are not yet announced.

Zepto presents the Hydra A17 gaming notebook PC. Zepto Hydra A17 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Extreme processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTX with 1GB of GDDR3 video RAM.

Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Netbook


Dell officially launches its Inspiron Mini 9 netbook PC. Three versions are available. All of them are powered by Atom N270 1.6GH processor, Intel GMA950 integrated graphics. They has a 8.9-inch LED 1024×600 display and WiFi 802.11g support.

The $349 Linux version of the Inspiron Mini 9 has 4GB of SSD, 512MB of memory and runs Mini OS based on Ubuntu 8.04. Dell offers 2GB of free box.net storage for this model. The $399 version gets 512MB memory, 8GB SSD and Windows XP Home. The most expensive $449 model features 1GB of RAM and 16GB SSD. It runs Windows XP Home.

Dell is currently having a offer: If you buy a Studio 15, XPS M1530 or XPS M1330 notebook, you can get the Inspiron Mini 9 for only $99. This offer end at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9 and is available for US consumers.

UMPCPortal has unboxed the Raon Digital Everun Note UMPC. The Everun Note is a netbook powered by an an AMD Turion 64×2 Dual Core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Users can get either a 60GB/80GB hard drive or a 12GB SSD for storage.

Dell E and E Slim Notebooks


Dell is preparing the E and E Slim mini laptop lineups. According to Engadget, Dell’s E series will come in 3 models, E Classic, E Video and E Video+. All of them are powered by Intel Diamondville processor, 512MB or 1GB of RAM, up to 16GB of storage. They will have a 8.9-inch LCD display.

E Slim series will instead come with 12.1-inch display. Both series will have support on WiFi, WiMax and Bluetooth connectivity.

MSI will release its Wind U100 mini notebook very soon. MSI’s Wind is the company’s answer to Asus Eee PC. It is equipped with an Intel processor and Intel 945GSE+ICH7M chipset. There are 512MB or 1GB of memory and you may want expand yourself to up to 2GB. It comes with an 80GB hard drive.

Acer is going to launch in Hong Kong in July the Aspire One mini laptop. The Aspire One is Acer’s answer to Asus’ Eee PC.
